First and foremost, I love my son Jack. I truly enjoy bejack-playing-at-the-doctors-officeing a mother to Jack and my chihuahua Tickles. It’s never quiet in our house. Someone is always running around laughing, yelling, or just plain being silly. Jack and Tickles are constantly chasing each other, it’s the cutest thing. My husband Kevin, owns his own business, which means he’s always working. But, whenever he’s around, him and Jack are goofing around. It’s like having another child.

When I’m not being a mom, I’m busy working. I love my job. I’m a Director of Marketing and PR¬†for a plumbing company and local businesses. It involves: building and maintaining websites, business profiles, SEO, SEM, analyzing our competition, social media, blogging, guest contributing, editing, managing communications, managing our relationships with non for profit organizations, and business videos. There’s a lot more involved but I just want to name a few things.

I’m originally from the North Suburbs, I have made a few friends down here, but most of my life long friends lives up North, so I have to drive up to go see them. With the little free time I have, I make it a point to see my girlfriends for dinner or drinks. Speaking of drinks, I love a good bottle or red wine or a few bottles of Champagne. Every busy mother needs to have girlfriends she could run to, to relax.

My boys love to eat. They are pretty lucky because this mom is an excellent cook. I’m not trying to toot my own horn, but I take pride in my cooking. Some women knit, others scrap book, I cook. Living with me, nobody will ever go hungry. If you stop by my house while I’m cooking, I will make sure you are fed.

The internet has made it easier for me to get to know the South Suburbs, but I’m still learning. I’m always asking about the best restaurants to try, the best outdoor spots to have a cocktail, what butcher to visit, local farmers markets, or the perfect spot to take my son.

Nobody said being a working mother trying to balance life was going to be easy, but I think I’m doing OK so far. I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences with you and finding great places to visit.
